Introducing the Wild, Wonderful Love Relationship Retreat

Andrews & Associates Counseling will host its first-ever couples retreat this April!

The Wild, Wonderful Love Relationship Retreat is a two-part event that will be held on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Milford Lake Event Center at Acorns Resort in Milford, KS. This retreat is open to all couples who are in a committed relationship.

Andrews & Associates Counseling’s presenters will cover information collating 40 years of field experience and research during the retreat. Through a series of educational modules and activities, couples will learn about topics including:

• Self-awareness and attachment styles.
• Trust, safety, vulnerability, and connection.
• Communication and conflict.
• Roles and responsibilities.
• Intimacy and sex.

Retreat presentations and activities will be led by the owner of Andrews & Associates, Dr. Stephanie Wick, who has been in practice for more than 18 years as a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist and a licensed clinical addictions counselor. She will be joined by licensed marriage and family therapists Gennifer Leach and Brooke Thornbrugh. Both Gennifer and Brooke are independent practitioners who specialize in couples therapy and marriage counseling.

“Relationships are wild, wonderful, frustrating, exhilarating, and exhausting. They certainly aren’t easy, and unfortunately for us, love isn’t always enough to make them work,” said Dr. Wick. She explained that despite good intentions, relationships can suffer when they are not prioritized or if couples become complacent.

Through the education and tools introduced at the Wild, Wonderful Love Relationship Retreat, Dr. Wick aims to provide couples with information and strategies to help enhance and maintain a fulfilling relationship. The retreat is designed to be inclusive to couples of all backgrounds and orientations, and who are at any stage of a committed relationship.

Retreat registration includes all presentation materials and refreshments for both days, plus lunch on Saturday. Additional services including optional overnight accommodations, meals, and recreation activities may be purchased separately through Acorns Resort.

The Mind, Body & Heart Event Series

The Mind, Body & Heart Event Series is a continuing string of educational and collaborative retreats, workshops, seminars, and other special events that support holistic well-being and resilience among individuals, within families and relationships, and in the context of the communities they live in. Events in this series are held semi-annually on a wide variety of topics. All events in this event series are designed and hosted by Andrews & Associates Counseling.

The vision behind the Mind, Body & Heart Expo (a community-based event first held in 2022) is carried on through this event series with themes connected to the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. The series is built with a special focus on providing tailored experiences that are accessible, welcoming, useful, and rewarding.
