Maris provides services for adults and couples.
Maris is a graduate of the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Kansas State University and a certified RYT-200 yoga instructor and Integrative Somatic Yoga practitioner. Her passion for helping people heal is rooted in an integrative and trauma-sensitive approach combining traditional talk therapy modalities with somatic-based approaches backed by neuroscience including gentle movement therapy, nervous system regulation techniques, and creative mindfulness practices.
Maris has experience guiding adult individuals and couples through various types of issues including PTSD and religious trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, communication issues, and life transitions. Her integrative approach includes EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, inner-child and parts work, experiential art and nature therapy, sand tray therapy, polyvagal theory, EFT, and the developmental model for couples.
Maris offers a safe and inclusive space for clients to be seen, heard, and understood. With empathic curiosity, she guides clients through the process of deepening their mind-body connection, becoming more emotionally agile, adopting healthier coping skills into everyday life, and cultivating greater self-compassion so they can feel more connected to themselves, others, and the world.
