Maria provides services for couples and individuals (adults) with sexual issues.
A core belief Maria holds is that all humans are inherently worthy of receiving love, acceptance, and connection to/from others. We all have the capacity for growth and authenticity but our unique experiences in life can impact healthy functioning. Specifically, when it comes to romantic relationships. She strongly believe that the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives. Therefore, Maria is passionate about helping individuals navigate their inner landscape to build a strong sense of Self while also bringing new possibilities for connection, love, and trust to your relationship. Her approach in working with couples is centered in differentiation-based therapies, psychoanalysis, and attachment theory through an intersectional lens. Maria is trauma informed and seek to lessen shame around sexual struggles (e.g., low sexual desire, desire discrepancies, “addiction”, etc.) in individuals and between partners.
Maria received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Kansas State University, and is currently a doctoral student in the same program. She has experience working with families, adult individuals, and couples. Her research focuses on relationship quality in romantic relationships.
In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her cat Alfie, traveling, catching live music, and expanding her cooking skills!
Under live supervision by Dr. Stephanie Wick, LCMFT.
