Gennifer Leach, MS, LCMFT

Gennifer Leach attended The University of Southern Mississippi for her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Graduate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. While attending university, Gennifer began working with individuals, couples, and families at the University Clinic for Family Therapy where she came to recognize the significance of secure attachments to wholistic well-being and engaging in healthy connections. Additionally, she was able to complete a yearlong externship with Pinegrove’s Women’s Center, a rehabilitation center for women that struggled with chemical dependency and eating disorders.

Gennifer’s experience later grew through continued work in substance use rehabilitation at Region 8 Female Residential Center in Hazelhurst, MS, the Clitheroe Center in Anchorage, AK, and most recently at Pawnee Mental Health Outpatient Recovery Services in Manhattan, KS. She also briefly served as a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) working with individuals, couples, and families on Fort Riley.

Gennifer is dedicated to working with individuals and couples to increase personal growth through emotional regulation and gaining the confidence to be vulnerable in connecting with their partner, friends, and family in meaningful ways. Through practice her approach to therapy has developed into a client-centered and humanistic experiential methodology. Gennifer believes Maya Angelou’s words give meaning to the client-centered experiential approach:

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Gennifer enjoys working with adolescents (starting at age 13), adult individuals, and couples.
