B.J. sees clients in person at our Andrews Junction City location.
B.J. accepts Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, Medicaid, and self-pay clients.
B.J. provides services for individuals (adults and adolescents 13+), pre-marital, couples, and families.
B.J. is a lifelong resident of Kansas except for his time in Texas where he received a bachelor’s degree in church ministry from Southwestern Assembly of God University. He moved to Junction City in 2004 to help the people of this area through his pastoral work at Flint Hills Church. Within a few years, he was additionally credentialed as a county chaplain for the Detention center and Law Enforcement agencies. This enabled him to meet with people in their hour of need: traumatic accident, fatality, incarceration, addiction struggles, mental health crisis, critical incident debriefs and a variety of moral and faith injuries.
In 2014, B.J. saw a need to expand his treatment skills to include the deeply transformative work available through Marriage and Family Therapy. He graduated from Kansas State University and did his internship among the military population (active, retired and their dependents) at the Fort Riley Chaplain’s Family Life Counseling Center. He has also been certified through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF).
B.J. enjoys helping individuals (14+), couples, families and groups discover their strengths and address the deep sources of their struggles so they can reach the full potential they deserve. He opens the door to therapy with a simple, yet powerful message: "Where you are isn't where you have to stay!"
B.J. treats depression, anxiety, disorders, trauma, and dysfunctions in an individual, relationship or family. Brief Solution Focused, Acceptance and Commitment, and Emotionally Focused therapies are used to help the client reach their goals. He also specializes in Pre-Marital Counseling and integrating the spirituality of clients.
B.J. is married and is a father to six boys. His family homeschools and they enjoy tent camping and outdoor adventures together.
